LANDLORD AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS COALITION

What Is The Landlord And Community Partners Coalition (LCPC)?

The Landlord and Community Partners Coalition (LCPC) was established by the Utah Housing Coalition in March 2025 to bridge communication gaps and build trust among landlords, tenants, and community-based organizations (CBOs).

LCPC’s primary goal is to foster meaningful collaboration that addresses systemic barriers, prevents evictions, and promotes long-term housing stability through education, mediation, and policy advocacy. While LCPC does not provide direct services, it creates opportunities through convenings, events, sharing of resources, and monthly meetings that generate solutions, break down communication barriers within the housing ecosystem, and educate tenants, landlords, and property managers alike.

The coalition delivers statewide training and actively collaborates with existing landlord referral networks, mediation programs, and housing resources to strengthen and amplify collective impact. LCPC also champions equitable policies and incentives that protect both tenants and landlords, while encouraging landlord participation in affordable and voucher-supported housing.

LCPC Priority Areas Include:

  • Overall education on tenant and landlord responsibilities, housing vouchers, programs, resources, and affordable housing options

  • Identifying and addressing barriers tenants face when trying to access and maintain housing

  • Advocating and lobbying for affordable housing and a more equitable housing and rental landscape

  • Securing funding for prevention, diversion, and mediation services

Ultimately, LCPC strives to streamline access to housing-related resources, improve communication across sectors, boost tenant retention, prevent evictions, and expand the availability of affordable and voucher-supported housing throughout Utah.

Why Did We Create The LCPC?

Check out the report that helped launch the LCPC and highlights the need for its creation: Unlocking Housing Relationships: Bridging Tenants, Community-Based Organizations, and Property Managers Through Coalition. As communication has broken down across the housing ecosystem, our coalition of more than 200 diverse members is coming together to drive meaningful change.
