First Time Home Buyer

The State of Utah offers a first-time homebuyer program through Utah Housing Corporation, whose mission is to help Utahns achieve safe, sustainable homeownership. Their lending partners work with many buyers who might not otherwise be able to purchase a home, making homeownership possible with the support of Utah Housing programs.

Buying a Home
Buying a home is a big step, and it helps to have clear, trusted information along the way—from understanding what you can afford and knowing your rights, to shopping for a loan, choosing a home, and preparing for closing. HUD offers many resources to support homebuyers, including counseling agencies, state and federal homebuying programs, and tools to help you compare loans, avoid predatory lending, and protect yourself with inspections and insurance. If you have questions at any point in the process, connecting with a HUD-approved housing counselor is a great way to get personalized guidance and support.
