Utah Weatherization Assistance Program - The program helps low-income households, particularly those with the elderly and disabled residents, reduce energy consumption. This lessens the impact of utility costs on limited household budgets and helps stimulate self-sufficiency.

Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund - Utahns served by the fund include those with low-incomes, first-time home buyers, residents with special needs such as the elderly, developmentally disabled, physically disabled, victims of abuse, and Native Americans. Money from the fund is generally loaned to first time homebuyers, builders, and developers.

Utah House - Utah State University Extension's sustainable building demonstration and education center. Our mission is to demonstrate, educate, and empower the public about new ways of building homes and creating landscapes that promote energy efficiency, water conservation, universal design principles, healthy indoor environments, and the sustainable use of all resources.

USDA Rural Development - We strive, in partnership with others, to help improve the quality of life by building competitive, vibrant rural communities. This is done through community facility and housing programs, businesses and sustainable cooperatives that can prosper in the global marketplace, and leading a role in electric, telecommunications, distance learning tele-medicine and water and wastewater programs.

Utah Individual Development Account Network - Individual Development Accounts - or IDAs are matched savings accounts specially designed to enable those of modest means to save, build assets, and enter the financial mainstream. IDAs reward the monthly savings of low-income families who are building toward purchasing a lifelong asset - most commonly buying their first home, paying for post-secondary education, or starting a small business.

Crossroads Urban Center - Crossroads is a multipurpose nonprofit, grassroots organization. National Housing and Rehabilitation Association - The National Housing & Rehabilitation Association's (NH&RA) Web site for developers, financiers, professionals and consultants in the affordable housing and historic rehabilitation businesses.

Planners Network - An association of professionals, activists, academics, and students involved in physical, social, economic, and environmental planning in urban and rural areas, who promote fundamental change in our political and economic systems.

Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies - The Joint Center for Housing Studies is Harvard University's center for information and research on housing in the United States. The Joint Center analyzes the dynamic relationships between housing markets and economic, demographic, and social trends, providing leaders in government, business, and the non-profit sector with the knowledge needed to develop effective policies and strategies.

Housing Assistance Council - Improves housing conditions for the rural poor, with an emphasis on the poorest of the poor in the most rural places in the United States.

Green Affordable Housing Coalition - A coalition of San Francisco Bay Area public-sector and private-sector professionals committed to incorporating green building practices into the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of affordable housing.

Homelessness

Community Voice Mail - Community Voice Mail provides free, 24-hour nationwide voice mail to people in crisis - connecting them to jobs, housing and hope.

Homeless Women’s Network -Dedicated to empowering women & youth to overcome the limitations of homelessness and poverty.

Association of Gospel Rescue Missions - RESCUE missions provide emergency food and shelter, youth and family services, rehabilitation programs for the addicted, education and job training programs and assistance to the elderly poor and at-risk youth.

National Coalition for the Homeless - a national network of people who are currently experiencing or who have experienced homelessness, activists and advocates, community-based and faith-based service providers, and others committed to a single mission. That mission, our common bond, is to end homelessness.

Federal Government Sites

U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) - HUD's mission is to increase homeownership, support community development and increase access to affordable housing free from discrimination. To fulfill this mission, HUD will embrace high standards of ethics, management and accountability and forge new partnerships--particularly with faith-based and community organizations--that leverage resources and improve HUD's ability to be effective on the community level.

Census Housing Data - The American Housing Survey (AHS) collects data on the Nation's housing, including apartments, single-family homes, mobile homes, vacant housing units, household characteristics, income, housing and neighborhood quality, housing costs, equipment and fuels, size of housing unit, and recent movers.
